Champions Crowned on Final Day of the Season

Three months and 293 games later, the 2015 Walnut PONY spring season came to an end Saturday with the crowning of four division champions. Up next is the all-star season for the selected all-star teams which can now be announced on our all-star teams page for 2015. The game results over the summer will be listed on the all-star results page. The Champions League players kicked off the day with the first game at 8am. This was the first year that Walnut PONY Baseball has done a Champions Division and it's been a great experience. All players got trophies, a yearbook and some great memories of playing baseball. The 2015 yearbooks will be ready for pickup on Saturday for those who ordered them. There will also be some extra copies available for sale for those who would still like to purchase them. Shetland and Pinto Championship Games Ready

All of Saturday's championship games are ready after Wednesday's Shetland and Pinto games produced the last of the contestants. The Shetland Championship game, scheduled for 12:30pm Saturday, will have a Cinderella team playing against the only once beaten number one seed. While the Pinto number three and four seeds face off at 9am Saturday followed by the Mustang and Bronco championship games. The Shetland Texas Longhorns were only 6-7-1 during the regular season and seeded 6th in the playoffs but they pulled off the big upset Wednesday night by beating Shetland Oklahoma, a team that had only lost twice all year (both to #1 seed Navy). Bronco and Mustang Championship Games Ready

Both Mustang and Bronco divisions have their championship games ready for Saturday as the final two teams punched their tickets Tuesday night. Number 1 seed Mustang USC beat Mustang Army and will face the number 2 seed Mustang Navy at noon on Saturday. These two teams split the four games that they played against each other during the season. Final Week of Spring Season

There was a full round of playoff games this past Saturday with a few surprises and upsets. The semi-finals are Tuesday or Wednesday for all divisions with the championship games all this coming Saturday May 16th. Both the Shetland and Pinto divisions are down to four teams left. In Shetland, 3 of the top 4 seeds are remaining with only Shetland Texas the surprise team when they upset Shetland Harvard on Saturday. However, the biggest upset of the day came in the Pinto division when Pinto USC beat the number 2 seeded Pinto Yale to advance to Wednesday's semi-finals. Election Day Saturday and Game Status

The the Board of Directors election for the 2015-2016 season will take place over two days, Saturday, May 9, all day at Creekside Park and Tuesday, May 12, also at Creekside Park. Any parent, guardian or legal representative, adults only, of a registered Player Member is eligible to vote, however, we are only excepting two votes per family, one vote per person. For example, a family with three children and one set of parents would only receive two total ballots maximum. Ballots most be legible and fully completed to be counted.
