8U Wins Again, 6U and 7U Lose their First Games

The Walnut Pinto 8U team continues the Walnut tradition of doing well in the Pinto tournaments again this year. They beat Whittier 13-2 to advance to Tuesday’s Pinto East Region championship game.

The Foal, Shetland-4, team was eliminated from their Region tournament today but still advance. The 6U team lost for the first time today after pulling 6 straight wins to open sanction play. They lost to Charter Oak 11 to 7 but are still alive in their region and have already clinched at least a trip to Super Regions. Pinto 7U also took their first lose when they lost their second game on Sunday 16-2 to Whittier. However, they did win their first game of the day when Jackson Russo crushed a pitch over the center field fence for a home run help the 7’s to a 6-3 victory over Jurupa Gold. They will play the winner of Jurupa Gold and Monrovia for the right to play Whittier again.
