Bronco11 Zone Day One

Bronco11 Zone Day One

The Bronco11 West Zone kicked off on Thursday evening with four games including the host team Walnut 11U. With temperatures in the high 90’s some teams handled the heat better than others as the winning teams won by a combined score of 49-4.

On the smaller south field, Torrance American used 3 over-the-fence home runs to defeat the Arizona team, Queen Creek. At the same time, the Northern California team, Vacaville, used two 4 run innings to beat the West Seattle team, 9-1 on the north field.

In the nightcaps, our Walnut team committed 4 errors in the 1st inning and the Hilo, Hawaii team took advantage of those mistakes to jump out to an early lead that they eventually built to a 9-0 lead. Needing only one more run for a mercy, Hilo slugger Khaden Victorino hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 6th inning to win the game. Super Region winner Mission Viejo defeated West Covina 14-3 in the other late game.

Friday will have 3 games on each field. The live streaming will take place again on the south field (field 2) all day Friday before moving to the north field on Saturday (hopefully the audio will be working).
