Championship Game is set as Walnut, Kona, Mexico and Texas all say goodbye

After 12 games in 3 days and 6 new teams out of 8 total competing this weekend at the inaugural Mustang-9 World Series, the same two teams who met last Monday in the West Zone championship game will meet again one week later in the World Series championship game. The teams from Kona, Hawaii; Sinaloa, Mexico; Corpus Christ, Texas and our own Walnut A team all got eliminated on Sunday.

In one of the better games of the day, Hart faced off against the team from Mexico. With Hart trailing 2-0 in the 4th inning, Hart’s Sage Marvin hit a grand slam home run to give his team the lead that it never relinquished and they won 6-4  North Valley won the nightcap 6-0 over Kona, Hawaii and earned themselves a rematch with Hart after losing to them in last week’s West Zone championship game.

The game will be at 7pm at Creekside Park and will also be live streamed here. Fox Sports broadcaster Chris Rix will do the announcing of the game. Join us at the park or on the live stream here.

In Walnut all-star news, the final two Walnut all-star teams were eliminated on Sunday. The Pony 14U team lost 12-1 to Cypress but have the distinction of being the only Walnut 14U team to make it out of regions since at least 2008 (no records before then are available). And as mentioned, the Walnut 9U A Team lost their second game of the World Series and were eliminated.
