Former Walnut PONY Player Drafted by Atlanta Braves

Former Walnut PONY all-star player Anthony Guardado was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of Major League Baseball’s new player draft this week. Anthony or as he was known here, Tiny, played on the Walnut PONY Bronco 11U all-star team that won the World Series in 2009. He followed up by making it all the way to the Bronco 12U West Zone the following year and then won the Pony 13u World Series in 2011 with West Covina PONY. Guardado has also signed with Long Beach State with a baseball scholarship.
