Irvine Wins Bronco-11 West Zone

Irvine won Sunday’s Bronco-11 West Zone Championship game by beating Murrieta 3 to 1 and won themselves a trip to Virginia and the Bronco-11 World Series.

Murrieta started the game strong with a leadoff double by Devlin Lindeman, who eventually scored on 2 out single by Caiden Matheny. That was the only damage Murrieta’s powerful bats would do for the rest of the game as Irvine pitcher Matthew Telles only allowed 3 more hits and struck out 9 batters through 6 innings. Irvine’s Ashwin Chona game into the 7th inning to get the save and preserve the victory. Click here to see pictures of the game, courtesy of the OC Register’s Tim Burt.
