Walnut All-Star Teams Continue Games

After most Walnut all-star teams had the last week off, the teams that are still alive pick up play again Thursday and Friday of this week. Our own PONY sanctioned Zone tournaments start next week with the Bronco-11 Zone beginning on July 17th and the Mustang-9 Zone the following day. Both our Bronco-11 all-star team and the Mustang-9 B team will begin play during those tournaments. The Walnut Mustang-9 A team begin play during the Mustang-9 World Series, also in Walnut on July 25-28th.

The Shetland-5 all-stars will be in Camarillo for the West Zone World Series pool play. They play Hart on Saturday, July 12th and Santa Rosa later in the day. They begin the single elimination portion of the tournament on Sunday.

Walnut Pinto all-star teams both play in their respective Super Regions. Pinto 7’s will play in a 3-game pool play starting Friday, also in┬áCamarillo, against La Mirada and then a game on Saturday vs. East Long Beach and Newbury Park on Sunday. They will need to at least finish in the top 2 of their pool to advance to the tournament portion and then the Pinto-7 West Zone World Series. Meanwhile the 8’s will be in Moreno Valley for their Pinto Super Region double-elimination tournament. The first game is Thursday, July 10th, against Redlands.

Closer to home, Walnut’s Mustang 10U team will be in West Covina for the Mustang Region tournament. Whittier will be their first opponent on Friday at 5pm. Our Bronco 12U team will also be in West Covina on Friday (7:30pm) at the Bronco Region tournament against the host team, West Covina Red.

Other than the Walnut teams starting play in Walnut later this month, the last team to begin play will be the Pony 14U all-stars next week at Pony Regions in Azusa on July 17th.
