Walnut Pinto 7U Region Champs

Walnut Pinto 7U Region Champs

Walnut’s Pinto 7U All-Stars defeated West Covina 9 to 6, in a back and forth battle for the Region Championship held in West Covina on Monday night. Walnut went a perfect 4-0 in the tournament and have claimed the very first Pinto-7 Region champion title.  They will now look forward to the SoCal Pinto-7 World Series in Camarillo that starts on Thursday at 5pm against either Simi Youth 1 or Hart.

At the Super Regions in Garden Grove, the Pinto A/8U team was finally eliminated after battling through the losers bracket all weekend to come within a game of playing for the right to go to the West Zone Pinto World Series in San Jose. Corona defeated them 7-5 in another typical hard fought battle by Walnut’s 8 year old all-stars.

The Shetland Region in Walnut saw our Shetland B team get one more shot at going to that division’s SoCal World Series but they fell short to West Covina Red 5 by a score of 21-11. In the other game, West Covina White won and will move on to Tuesday night’s championship game against Charter Oak.

Diamond Bar also will be moving to the Mustang’s Championship game in Walnut after defeating La Canada 7-0 Monday night. Both Championship games will take place at 5pm, with a game to follow if either of the undefeated teams (Charter Oak in Shetland and West Covina Red in Mustang) lose the first game.
